Founder's Vision

Dr. Danilo J. Carandang
Founder and Chairman of the Board United Filipino Movement for National Transformation Consumers Cooperative (UFM Cooperative)

Throughout my years in banking, education, and community leadership, I have witnessed both the potential and the struggles of many Filipino families. I have seen hardworking people striving to improve their lives but often lacking access to the opportunities, systems, and support that would allow them to move forward with dignity and stability.

These experiences shaped my conviction that meaningful national transformation must begin at the community level.

It must begin with people learning to cooperate.

The United Filipino Movement for National Transformation Consumers Cooperative—UFM Cooperative—was founded with this vision in mind: to create a platform where Filipinos can work together, share opportunities, and build sustainable livelihoods through cooperative enterprise.

At its core, UFM Cooperative is more than a financial or business organization. It is a movement for responsible economic participation. It seeks to empower ordinary citizens, professionals, educators, entrepreneurs, farmers, and overseas Filipinos to take part in building resilient communities through shared ownership and collective action.

Our vision is to develop cooperative hubs across the country and beyond—bringing together people from schools, churches, civic organizations, businesses, local communities, and Filipino diaspora networks. Through these hubs, we aim to create opportunities for sustainable agriculture, agro-forestry development, cooperative enterprises, and community-based innovation.

Projects such as our agro-forestry initiatives and farm tourism developments demonstrate how cooperation can transform underutilized land into productive ecosystems that benefit both people and the environment.

But the true measure of UFM Cooperative's success will not simply be the number of projects we establish.

It will be the number of lives we empower.

It will be the strength of the communities we help build. And it will be the culture of cooperation that we inspire among Filipinos everywhere. I believe that when Filipinos unite around shared values of integrity, discipline, and cooperation, we can create institutions that not only serve our generation but also leave a legacy of opportunity for the generations that follow.

UFM Cooperative is our humble contribution to that future. And together, through cooperation, we can transform vision into reality.
